Functional Medicine
Functional Medicine
Functional medicine is a personalized root cause approach to chronic illness. The goal is to improve your body's overall function with dietary changes or modifications, stress management techniques, tools for improving sleep, and recommendations for movement and exercise. Instead of treating the symptoms, we will work together to figure out the root cause, remove what is fueling the fire and add in more of what your body needs so that it can heal itself. It is important to meet you where you are and determine a plan that aligns with your goals so that it will be attainable and manageable for you.
A few of the conditions I work with:
-Thyroid imbalances/Hypothyroidism
-Digestive dysfunction
-Autoimmune conditions
-Cortisol imbalances
-Mold & heavy metal toxicity
-Lyme disease
-Anxiety
-Depression
-Infertility
-PCOS
-Endometriosis
-Menopause
-Metabolic dysfunction: Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, NAFLD, elevated lipids
-Chronic pain & fibromyalgia
-Neurodegenerative diseases
Functional Medicine also prioritizes preventive care by identifying potential health issues before they become chronic problems. By understanding the underlying causes of symptoms, practitioners can implement early interventions to prevent disease progression. This proactive approach not only improves overall health but also reduces the need for medications and invasive treatments.
Functional Medicine also supports the body's natural healing processes. By focusing on holistic and natural therapies, it promotes optimal functioning of the body's systems. Patients often experience improved energy levels, better digestion, enhanced mental clarity, and overall increased well-being as their bodies regain balance and harmony.

"Dr. Lexi does a phenomenal job, not just with her adjustments but also in Functional Medicine. She has helped our family gain back health after an illness that most likely wouldn’t have been diagnosed in a typical doctor appointment. We are grateful she is in the Northland serving her patients!"
"Our experience with Dr. Lexi has been completely positive! We are a family of 5 and each one of us see her regularly. She has helped me personally through 2 pregnancy and has cared for each of my babies. We would highly recommend Dr. Lexi to anyone looking for a chiropractor."
